I am not sure if this is normal or not. Whenever I go from one web page to another, I hear a very soft humming sound from this laptop (lasts about 4 secs). But when the page completely loads, the humming sound stops and the computer is dead silent. Is this normal or should I get a replacement laptop? What is this noise? Maybe because the laptop is so thin that I can hear this noise?

Do you have website cacheing enabled? It sounds to me as if its writing a cache file of the website to your hard drive. Which is normall. The only 2 mechanical parts in your laptop are youre hard drive and disc drive. Usually the hard drive is the only humming device unless your using the disc drive

Sounds like a low performance drive. Shouldn't be anything to worry about, but take firo40's post with a grain of salt.
