i have windows 8 and my Windows 8 key, and im building a new computer, but ofc it has no OS, so i need windows 8 to boot it with, how can i do that, for free cuz i already have Windows 8 legally

Solution

if you bought it online, it is probably a upgrade. you'd have to burn the downloaded files to the disc as an .iso. Once you did this, try to install windows 8, if it does not work, this is because it definitely is an upgrade. in order to install it, you'd have to put windows on there, install it. then upgrade.
Hope this helps. :)

If you downloaded Win 8 Upgrade using M'soft Upgrade Assistant, then strictly speaking you should use the upgrade on the PC on which you did the download. If you downloaded the Retail version, you will be able to install it on any PC of your choice. The file you downloaded should be an ISO which can be burned to a disk or included in a bootable USB flash or similar device.
