When I tried to reformat (after a infection I could not get rid of) my ssd says 479.6 free of 479.6 free even though I had about 100gb of data. Anyway I continued to "reformat" and when I logged in everything seemed like new but my storage was down by 60gb so I took hibernation off and disable system protection/restore, after resetting I got 455gb free. But I noticed my NVidia drivers and control panel where there despite not installing them.WTF
WHY CANT I REFORMAT WINDOWS? Why is it saying I have space completely free when I don't there?
And why do I have old windows files I cant get rid of?
Please help.

When you perform a format, your drive's data is not necessarily erased. I would recommend you boot from your windows disc, launcch startup repair, open a command window and launch diskpart (type diskpart.)

Use list disk then select disk to locate and select your SSD drive, then use the command "Clean all" to completely destroy all data on the drive. After the operation completes, type exit (press enter), exit (enter again), then select restart from the bottom right corner.

When the computer restarts, reinstall Windows and your system will be clean with an actually empty drive.

Ok so I did a clean all command on my disk and after I reformatted I checked my disk space and I'm missing about 10gb for some reason and sometimes the storage goes down considerably.
On top of this my pc has shut down a couple times today and my screen goes black and after 30 seconds goes back at times.
What's the problem and solutions??
thanks for the diskpart info btw

To help other users that stumble upon this thread please select an answer and/or open a new thread for additional problems outside of "can't reformat."

If you send me a private message with a link to your new threads, I will be happy to assist with your other issues.

And what is that comment in reference to?

The initial question was "can't reformat." It has now evolved to "screen goes black / system crash / BSOD."

I was recommending opening a new thread for the new issues so they can be titled, indexed and resolved appropriately.
