How's clamtx for scanning for windows malware/viruses?

I run linux, casually, from different boxes I throw together, anyway, this is the first time I ever cared about this, I downloaded it, installed it, and it's nice and easy to use. How does it stack up against competitors. I just want to be able to scan, discs I burn, flash drives, ect, before it comes in contact with one of my windows machines.

Yup that exactly right, clamtx, clamav, I'm told they're the same just that one you can get from Ubuntu software place (clamtx).

It works fine. I'd rather use Avast! though. But it doesn't hurt to have redundancies. freshclam + clamscan can work too.

I could not find avast for linux, it hasn't actually been dropped has it?

aah, I tried it again, it did indeed work, I will keep it bookmarked, I'm just going to keep using clam until it proves to me that it doesn't work. You say it's fine, and another article I read said it's fine so I have no reason to switch right now. Thanks.
