I am unable to overclock my 6950's at all

So I have multiple Visiontek 6950's in my computer (1gb version) and I can't overclock them at all. When I go into MSI AB, the sliders are already at their maximum which prevents me from sliding them any higher. These values are 800MHz for the core and 1200MHz on the Mem. I can't access the voltages either. I am able to underclock them, but when I do this the clock speeds don't change at all in GPUZ and the screen starts tearing and my computer becomes unusable. Then I tried Sapphire Trixx software, and it appeared as if I could overclock the cards but when I did I had the same results as when I tried to underclock them in AB. I have no idea what is causing this.

I am on Catalyst 13.3, and I have all of the latest drivers. I have uninstalled reinstalled drivers and tried different versions but nothing has worked. Other people with the same model card as me have been able to overclock, so I have no idea what the deal is. Any help would be appreciated.

It might be that your name brand card, Vision Tech, doesn't respond well to changing the clock speeds on your card. I have the same problem with my 660Ti, well kind of. If I overclock it at all, my games crash after a while. The games won't crash at all if I don't overclock my card. And most people are able to overclock their 660Ti's at least a little.

As for underclocking your card, I've never had a card respond like that to underclocking it. But like I said, it may be that your name brand doesn't respond well to clock speed differences.

I'd recommend you try MSI Afterburner. It's the overclocking program I use for all of the 4 graphics cards I work with, and it works with all of them. That and EVGA Precision X, but that may only be for EVGA cards, although I think it can work with other cards.

Yeah, at first I overlcocked one of the cards and it didn't work but I didn't think much of it because it was a pretty cheap card. When I tried it on my other 2 6950's and it didn't work I thought either something else was wrong with my software or hardware, or none of the cards of this model could overclock. Since now I know other people with the same exact card as me who can overclock theirs, I assume that something is going wrong with my software or hardware configuration that I am unaware of.

I haven't been able to find this issue happening to anyone else online either, which is odd as well.
