Hello community and thanks in advance for all responses.

So I like gaming and due to the location of my computer im usually on headphones for sound. Since this is the case i figured maybe spoil myself a bit for some full immersion gameplay. Also i do a lot of skype for team games.

Looking for a good headset/soundcard setup for about $200. Heard getting a sound card is the way to go is that true? Also headset need a mic and be able to do 5.1 or 7.1 if in price range. Any advice i know almost nothing about sound. right now im running on a ASUS Xonar DG and some Razer Tiamat 2.2's. is this adequate or can i do better for the price?

Thanks again

Let me fix this:
Sound card is good.

Get these(cheap and good for gaming, but still better than gaming headset garbage):

If you want open headphones:

Add in clip on mic and...

Add in clip on mic and you're good to go.

Using the creative card will give you virtual surround, which in my opinion, has always been better than those "REAL" 5.1 and 7.1 audio headphones.

Solution
You can get gaming headphones, but..

A. They will not sound that good sound quality wise
B. The ones with several drivers in each ear such as the Razer Tiamat 7.1 are the worst things you can buy. Cramming several low quality sound drivers into a tight space is a horrible idea.
C. Virtual from my experience has offered superior positional audio with good headphones.

I've tried a lot of gaming headphones, Astro a40s for example, I have been very unimpressed.

Gamers are fooled into buying terrible "gaming themed" products that end up to be terrible. Some are fine with the audio from a gaming headset, maybe you would be too, but I have never been personally.
