I'm helping a friend reset his old vista laptop, but just after windows finishes the factory reset, the computer will shut itself off, and again once it is resumed. Finally it will throw an error message telling me to restart the installation. Retrying gave us the same problem.
The laptop has a history of overheating, but it was not nearly as hot during the installation as it has been previously. The only thing I can think of is hardware failure, but I'd like some outside opinions. I'll be checking the computer out again at roughly 12pm EST. I'll edit this tomorrow with specific information. All I remember right now is that it's an HP laptop.
