Hi,

I'm looking for an factory unlocked GSM mobile hotspot for use around the world with local PAYG SIM cards while traveling with the family.

I usually purchase a local 3G PAYG SIM card and speed is usually sufficient (it depends upon availability in the specific region).

Alternatives seem to be ZTE MF60/MF80 or Huawei E5151/E5756.

The former are 3G while the latter are 4G/LTE.

Our current devices are iPhones 4S (one iPhone 5) and iPad2 (soon to be replaced by the latest).

I know that the 4Ss do not support LTE.
On the other hand I suspect that most countries do not yet have LTE deployed and I do know that there are many different frequencies.

So I'm not quite convinced that the latest 4G/LTE MIFI devices are really what I need.

I'd appreciate any recommendations.

Thank you,

Daniel

Hi,

I've seen that product, however it's not very widespread.
I'm considering the Huawei E5756S-2 or Huawei E586ES-2.
The E5756 has double the (theoretical) speed and double the battery, but in my usage profile this doesn't matter (I have electricity available virtually everywhere).
