New Motherboard/Hard Drive - Windows 7 Install Issue

Hello,

I just recently purchased a new motherboard for my Asus N80Vb and installed it. I then realized my hard drive was also dead and went ahead and purchased a new one.

Fast forward to today, I got the motherboard and hard drive installed. However, when I go to attempt to install Windows 7 Professional x64, the DVD drive spins up and nothing. It'll sit at a blank screen with the blinking cursor.

Wondering if it was maybe a drive issue or what have you, I tried a few other disks. My old Windows MCE disk at least go to the first stages of autorun before getting a 7B stop code. I then tried an Active BootDisk disk and that booted up fine, but not much I can do with that.

I'm kinda at a loss here of what to do to get Win7 up and running again. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Hi

Is your Windows 7 DVD OEM system builder, Retail or upgrade ?

Have you tried booting up another PC with your Windows 7 DVD ?
(to test Windows 7 disk is bootable)

    Hey, Mr. Barnes.

I'm just dumb. It was a BIOS setting, but it's all squared away and working now!
