Is HD 5850 is good for playing latest games??? Can I play Crysis 3 in high graphics. Or any upcoming games? I'm asking this because HD 5850 is outdated card.

What are your other options? A 5850 although older still can play a lot of games pretty well.

You could probably (key word probably idk for sure) play crysis 3 relatively smoothly on low. I'm going to guess you play at 1080p since you didn't say. 4gbs ram is low for a gaming PC but if you have only the game open and nothing in the background it should work For now

actually I'm a casual gamer. Mainly I'm a developer. My screen resolution is not 1080p. currently running at 1360x768 resolution. and I think currently there has no chance of getting a new monitor.

Then what will be a good buy for me?? which one of these is btr? GTX 550ti, GTX 650 or HD7770

If you already have the Radeon HD 5850, then there is no point in upgrading at the moment. 1360x768 is pretty low resolution and you should be able to get close to 30FPS when playing at very high settings. While the Radeon HD 5850 is not listed in the below chart, there is the Radeon HD 5870. The Radeon HD 5850 would get about 22 or 23 FPS based on the chart.

Since 1360x768 has about 38% fewer pixels than 1600x900 resolution you should see better performance. Therefore, you should get close to 30FPS on average with the Radeon HD 5850. However, the test rig is based on a Core i7 3960X clocked at 4600 MHz. So based on your i5-3550 you will get something lower than the estimated 30FPS average that i stated. How much less? Not sure, maybe you'll actually get 25 FPS or 26 FPS with very high settings. Not exactly sure how dependent the game is on the CPU.

5850 appears to be your best option for the gpu's listed

4GB of ram is plenty of ram for a gaming computer

The 5850 will play quite nicely at 1366x768 or 1280x720 you should still have a pretty good time with high graphics settings,

A coworker of mine has a similar gpu and cpu setup and he still finds his games enjoyable and well above current console graphics

Yes you are right the integrated GPU in i5 3550 can run Sniper warrior 2 at low settings(in medium its not complete smooth), it can run far cry 3 at medium, and crysis 3 at low. Thats why I'm finding a low budget card for my 1360x768 resolution & I got a 2nd hand(2years old) HD5850 of my friend who wants to shift to GTX660. So is this will be a good buy??? And can I use both graphics card(integrated in i5 and the HD5850) at a time for graphics boost like..?

HD5850 has better performance than 7770, got mine for 85€ ( 110$ ) used it for around 8 months till i upgraded to 7870 LE, and sold the 5850 for 100€ ( 130 $ )

and most games worked med-max @ 1680x1050 res.
