Xfx 7950 vs sapphire 7870xt

Hi everyone I plan on building my first gaming pc soon. I have a budget of $250, and both cards push it the 7950 is 270 with rebates and things and the 7870 is 255. I know the 7950 would be better but I have heard mixed reviews about the xfx brand. Also the 7870 is out of stock nearly everywhere, but my brother has to go to Kingston in a few days for work and can pick one up, if it's still in stock.
Edit: I plan on using a 1080p for gaming and don't intend on overclocking

Canada, sorry. Last time I checked newegg was out of stock. But at newegg it's $5 more and $10 for shipping so its the same price as the 7950.

The 660 Ti can be had down here for $270 (after $20 MIR) .... dunno if that works for you up north.

As for how they stack up with the 7870 and 7950, at 1920 x 1080 its significantly faster than the 7870, tiny bit faster in fps than the 7950 but the frame latency issue sets them apart:
