I have an Intel D946GZIS.

It has a PCIe 1.0 slot.

I'm going to buy a Sapphire Radeon HD6450.

This video card is a PCIe 2.1 card.

All over the internet, people say, wikipedia says, that 2.x cards are compatible with 1.x slots.

HOWEVER, when it comes to 2.1 card - 1.0 slots, there's some problems.

How can I know if my card will work? What are these problems?

If it fits it may just clock down to the lower speed. If the slot doesn't match then you might have an issue. I believe standards in place will allow the card to work.
