I have a problem with my ATI Radeon 5500 HD graphics card.It shows mostly green,pink,white..dots/lines/stripes when i try to play a game and sometimes it even crashes and gives me a blue screen.I had the same problem 2 years ago but it was gone in a couple of days so I didn't investigate a lot about it.Now it's here again. After that last problem, that happenned 2 years ago, everything was fine.Today I was playing Just Cause 2 multiplayer beta for which I waited 2 months or so and now I can't f***ing PLAY IT...(sry, i'm kinda mad)
Anyway, I didn't install any new software or anything that could cause the problem and my drivers are up to date.I checked inside and cleaned it even dough it wasn't very dusty. It shows only in games and not on anything else like Youtube(or any other)videos,explorer...It appears sometimes when I'm starting up windows after a crash caused by the same problem.
But that's enough talking. As they say, a picture tells a thousand words (and videos even more) So here!
Album
If you have any ideas what I should do or what's causing the problem, please respond.Thank you.

Hi
I`t`s not software problem.
You GPU card Memory Chips are over heat and they start to make those green static defects.
If you have this problem when you just power ON then maybe they have "cold junction" and you have to look for service specialist.

From the video i assume that you have laptop ?
1. try to clean the cooling system of the laptop
- use pressure air flask
- look for manual for disassemble for better clean
- radiator fins are getting dusty for few months in some models ...
2. If the problem is still there - is not much you can do
- try to see what temp. you GPU is reaching
- start FURMARK stability test and watch the temp - if you hit more than 85 - 90 degree maybe you`r cooling system have problems - fan is wear , passive radiator & pipe cooling is not effective and need replacemont ...
- or you GPU memory chips are getting to warm ( under load ) coz they are old and they
start to give errors.

If you deal with 2. situation i`m advise you to look for laptop service repair specialist

Hi thanks for responding.
It's not a laptop it's a desktop.
I'm afraid it isn't the cooling system.I replaced the fan last year i think because the old one was broken. When I start FURMARK it doesn't go over 60°C but it still goes green and crashes the app after a minute or so.
All the cooling systems are clean and I already blew it all out with air pressure.
I think i'm gonna try and pull it out and put it back in just in case if something got disconnected or anything like that....i'm not really sure if that could cause this problem.

I`m concern that you GPU`s memory chips are bad .....
If you see defects under 60 % they are about to die at all soon or one day ....
The final try ro rescue them is to heat them with hot air 250 - 300 degree for few sec. and push them down
Coz of the technology used for solder them they are get clue out with time ......
But is temp. solution.
Or may kill the GPU at all ........
Sorry !
