I just bought a couple 4GB sticks and the description makes it sound like I could OC the speed from 1333 to 1500.

Can anyone please help me understand if that's right? Do I just increase voltage or is there more to it? Would it even be worth it in actual use?

I'm not super experienced but can find my way around BIOS settings.

Oh, and my CPU is AMD so no XMP profiles for me :)

Thanks.

What you do is go into the bios of your motherboard and select the XMP Profile, this will automatically set the ram for the settings that are pre-programed into the ram. You won't have to make any other changes. Of course since you don't have an Intel CPU then you don't have the XMP option.

What you can do instead since it has already been tested at those XMP Profile settings is change the ram speed to 1600mhz. If there is any trouble with running it at that speed then you can add a bit of voltage, but I don't think that you will have to. What motherboard do you have?

Overclocking ram does not give you as much performance increase as a CPU or video card would. So going from 1333mhz to 1600mhz will be a small increase, to go from...

His motherboard won't be able to run 2133Mhz anyway
