I'm building my first homebuilt (enthusiast) PC and I was wondering if you can set your own custom manufacturers' logo like how my current PC says COMPAQ on the screen for "f12 for BIOS" ect before windows boots up and if it's possible how do I do it and what are the image limitations?

SYSTEM:
ASRock Fatal1ty Proffesional motherboard
Intel i7 3770K
windows 7 Home
boot drive: Intel 520 series 240GB SSD

Solution
Ahh right , what motherboard is it ? Normally motherboards such as Asus or Gigabyte have a decent splashscreen. And sorry even editing the bios wont work , the splash screen is hard flashed onto the board itself so yeah :p

No you can't set your own boot logo. Unless you're interested in coding and modifying your Motherboard's bios then let me know & I'll tell you how to do it. Although changing the boot logo is risky as it's basically messing with your motherboard's bios which isn't a good thing. I'd recommend you just leave it alone and enjoy the default boot splashscreen ;)

I said in the original post:

"SYSTEM:

here's the link to it: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z77%20Professional/

^ That is garish, he's just staring you.

I think its possible to replace the splash screen with the background process' that happen when it POST's. Though I dont think you can change the background inside the BIOS at all unless you want to get into BIOS modding.
