If it is a file drive you can copy and paste if you want. Robocopy is another option.

If it is a system drive. You want to clone it. Many drive makers have a software package(most from Acronis) that can do all this for you.

What drive did you get anyway?

  2. I've replaced a WD blue caviar 500gb with a 1tb version. Gonna keep the 500gb until it does fail as a secondary.
