I would love to install windows 7 on my new SSD that I purchased on ebay, but it does not show up in the HD list where I would choose to put the OS on it. I can only assume I need drivers for windows so it detects the drive.

I put the part number into toshiba website, and ended up with a message that only says no drivers available.

SN - 40TS106WT4LZ
Part Number - 205b5849

I find this unlikely. Am I going to have to just start downloading random other SSD drivers from Toshiba till one works?

SSD drives dont need drivers; the controller does and all but raid are already incorporated into Win7. If you're drive is not being detected by the bios then try updating the bios. Make sure the bios sata setting is in ahci mode and then try installing win7 again.
