I would currently in the process of building about the same config as the 2013 BestConfigs AMD Budget Gaming Build.

I have and bought

AMD FX-6300
Asus M5A97 R2.0
Corsair Vengenace 1600 8GB
Western Digitial Blue 500GB
CoolerMaster HAF 912
Sapphire Vapor-X HD 7970 (leased from CuttingEdgeGamer. can buy for 459.99)
Pay Attention .

I currently Lease the Sapphire Vapor-X Gigahertx Edition 7970 from CuttingEdgeGamer.com. I can buy it from them for 459.99 same price as newegg.

I have to buy a powersupply which the card recommends 750 watt power supply.
Upgrade my monitor to 1080P monitor i have a 1600x900 monitor now. I need Windows 7 or 8. TomsHardware reccomends windows 8 for The fx-6300. and a DVD-RW and maybe a SSD.

Is this overkill for 1080p. though i would of thought the fx-6300 would bottleneck the hd 7970.

my overall budget if i buy the the 7970 from cuttingedgegamer is 1000 the 1000 includes the cost of the 7970 so $540 tobuy from newegg or amazon to finish the build. I need a power supply, monitor, OS, DVD-RW and maybe SSD.

the other option is buy all that but to buy something like the Sapphire 7870 XT (Tahiti LE). That would seem like more balanced. but the standard 7870 only get 63 FPS on medium in Crysis 3 according to tomshardware. and that with a Intel Core i7 extreme

$460 sounds a bit high for that card. With the monitor and OS, I couldn't fit the 7970 so I went with the 7950. You can pick out your own case.

Did you not read i have the case, cpu, hdd, mb, and ram. not to rude. you diregarded and look at the 1000 budget and spec out a intel build for amd build. and the concerns i had with the cost of the 7970 or wehter it needed for 1080P. do you read this site.

There's nothing specific about the parts outside of the CPU and Motherboard. If you only need a PSU, monitor, OS, optical drive, and maybe a SSD, then just pick them out from my post. They should fit the budget. And if you have any left over, a good SSD is the Samsung 840 120GB.

I am confused about that, and my cocerns is cost of the 7970. what i am saying i really like to spend less as it seems overkill for the monitor. i am trying to choose something that cost effective and produce good results. the 7950 seems like a better fit otrthe powercolor myst 7870
