Dual DVI-I to a Dual DVI-D, what's the difference?

Hi,

I'm planning to purchase a 144hz monitor from Asus VG278H and a XFX HD 7970. I've noticed that the card has a Dual DVI-I but the monitor has a Dual DVI-D port. I want to know if I can still get a 144hz refresh rate? and if not, what should I do to be able to get 144hz refresh rate?

Thanks.

It seems I linked the wrong monitor, Asus VG278HE, so just to be sure, as long its a Dual Link DVI cable, regardless if its a Dual Link DVI-I or Dual Link DVI-D, it will work fine, and I will still be able to get a 144hz, right?

Yea as far as i've ever seen the dvi-i just means if you wanted to connect say a analogue cable like vga to an old monitor you still can. It will pass through analogue and digital. Looking at the xfx website you seem to have a single link dvi-d connection and dual link dvi-i connection. A bit odd to me seems a cheap way to do things but if you connect to the dvi-i port you should be fine. Either one will run your monitor at the correct resolution but if you can't tell them apart check your refresh rate. If one limits you to 60hz then go to the other port and you will be fine.
