Hello, this is my first post here. Glad to be part of the community.
So, I've been looking into a build-your-own type gaming pc.

My build will need:

  • The parts (perferebly from amazon/newegg)
A moniter (20 inch or bigger)
    Keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc

For my build I would perfer somthing with sli. Also I'm an intel/nvidea/asus fanboy so I would perfer from those brands, but if that's not possible anything will work. NOTE: I would perfer to play most the games on high/ultra if possible.

Games I will be playing:

  • Skyrim (with high res mods)
    Battlefield 3
    Crysis 3
    Borderlands 2
    Dark souls

So I'm really looking forward to a responce from the community. Cheers everybody!

EDIT: Yes I will be overclocking to the max it can. Noise is not a problem.

Are you overclocking?
It's hard getting a full system and SLI in $1500. Here's what I got for an overclockable rig:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($119.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($47.20 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($99.78 @ Amazon)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5"...

-i5-3570k is the best cpu for gaming at a reasonable price. Pair that with the asus p8z77-v lk and the hyper 212 evo for good overclocking.
-Cheap, low profile ram.
-Standard 1tb HDD.
-Samsung 840 is the cheapest 120gb SSD. Still an upgrade over the HDD
-GTX670. Gives great performance for the price. Not over-priced like the GTX680.
-Nice case. Lots of room. Low price.
-750w modular psu so you can SLI in the future
-Cheap optical drive.
-You can choose between windows 7 or 8. You can easily make windows 8 look like windows 7. Windows 8 takes up a bit less room, boots faster (just by a tiny bit, ~1second or less), newer os.
-Cheap 21.5" monitor at 1080p featuring LED backlight and built-in speakers. Also by ASUS!
-Good, reliable mechanical keyboard.
-Great laser mouse. Should be comfortable.

Notes: The i5-3570k costs the same at newegg and amazon. Newegg has an i5-3570k bundle. Pair it with the Asus p8z77-v lk board and get $55 off.
The Radeon HD 7970 will give better performance for about the same price as the gtx670. you might want to consider that.
