So I have been getting very awful framerates for awhile now, and I've tried many things to tweak and slightly improve the framerates, but I think its time for an upgrade. Basically the issue i was having was whenever there was lots of clutter on the screen during gaming, such as Diablo 3 monsters or a teamfight in League of Legends, I would experience drastic FPS drops.

Based on my current specs, what would be the best mix of cost efficiency, being compatible and performance for a new graphics card.

Alienware M17x r3
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz x8
4gb Ram
GTX 460m (damn this card.. so many issues)

Not sure if i need to include anything else. Thank you guys!

Edit 1:

How much of an upgrade would this be? http://www.ebay.com/itm/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-560M-MXM-3-0...

Am I on the right track here? I need direction!! Value + performance

Thank you!!

the 7970m is supported... apparently the higher end nvidia will work but you lose 3d with them. the high end radeon apparently work flawlessly.

granted this was info gleaned from google searching... not personal experience.
