corsair ddr3 ram, 2000mhz 8gb

intel i7 3770k (although i got that for my b'day so im not paying for it)

radeon 7870 gpu (1 to start with but will get one later on)

msi z77 gd-65 mobo

bitfenix shinobi case 0r corsair 650d (unsure so far)

and a 1tb hdd

thankyou

Is it going to be 1000 dollars, not counting the Cpu? If so, that's a pretty good budget for a Pc.

There is only one game out right now that will see a performance increase by using ddr3 2000, so I'd suggest sticking with ddr3 1600. Save some money. I'd also recommend an Asus or Asrock motherboard. I like MSI for budget boards, but I don't feel they are as good as either of the two aforementioned brands.

For the next 3 days, this is a hell of a deal: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/ocz-power-supply-oczz850m Good quality PSU, enough wattage for 2x 7870's or higher, Gold rated and it's modular.

Since you are going crossfire, I would recommend one of the following PSUs:

1. Corsair TX 850
2. Corsair HX 850 (has a 7-year warranty and is Gold rated)
3. Corsair AX 860i (this is their high-end PSU - platinum rated)
4. Seasonic ss-850 (silver rated)
5. Seasonic x-850 (gold rated)
6. The Corsair AX 1200i is amazing for a crossfire setup but it is a little overkill and it is expensive.

Keep in mind that a 600W or a 750W PSU will run your PSU but not as well as the 850W PSUs. The 850W PSUs will run cooler, quieter and will be more efficient than a 600W or 750W PSU.

I had the Corsair HX 750W PSU in a single GPU build (just one video card) with the I-7 920 CPU. The Corsair 750W PSU would always be kicking into high fan (which is very noisy) and it ran very hot. Yes it worked for my computer but not very well. Now keep in mind that the Corsair HX 750W is a highly rated PSU.

Fast forward to my current build. I have an ATI 6950 with the I-7 2600K CPU. For the new build, I moved up to the Corsair HX 850W PSU - WOW what a difference.

The HX 850W PSU runs silent - I have never even heard the fan come on. It runs cool - it does not heat up my case and expensive components. According to the reviews I have read, the HX 850 runs at 92% efficiency with the power usage of my computer - this saves money on electricity.

For a crossfire build, in my opinion a minimum PSU should be 850W. You could even go to something like the Corsair AX 1200i but that is a little overkill.

Some people will advise with going with a 600W or 750W PSU and they will work - just not as well as an 850W PSU.

Nope, wouldn't suggest that PSU on my life. The Z series was a complete and utter fail from OCZ. Horrible grinding noise, quite a few DOA cases etc etc etc. Only ever get the ZX series from OCZ for PSU's.

Odd, since it's listed as a tier 2 PSU, and there are 3 reviews that list that PSU as a good quality item:

I've owned 4 OCZ PSU's and haven't had a problem with any one of them. I did however manage to fry one due to not allowing adequate space for the fan to draw air from the bottom of my case. That was completely my fault though. I've had a 500w unit running 24/7 for over four years now. So for the price, I would still recommend that PSU I listed.

You have to remember that the review sites only use the PSU for a couple of weeks, not extended use like what most people use.
