Hi there,
Is it possible for a motherboard to support ddr3 ram that's 1066mhz only and not 1333mhz?
Just bought a pc, it has 2 modules that are 1gb 1066mhz.
The board has 4 dimms, I tried installing a 4 module that's 1333mhz, the pc just beeped;
I then tried installing a 2gb 1333mhz module and the same thing happened.
Please advise me as to what could be the problem guys.

PC »»»lenovo thinkcentre, core 2 duo 3.00Ghz

Can you give us the model number of the Lenovo Thinkcenter.
When you tried installing the additional ram sticks were the ram sticks that came with the Pc still in their slots? Adding ram can be difficult and the speed ,cas latency and voltage all has to match. Different sizes can also be a problem and consulting the users manual of the motherboard will help.
You do want to install ram in matching kits to have a smooth install with no problems. The Pc that you just bought what OS does it have, 32 bit or 64 bit.
You do need to share all your info with us so that we can get a clear picture of what you have and what your trying to use.

Additional Memory: 2GB PC3-8500
1066MHz DDR3 UDIMM Memory (43J5435)
– SFF, Tower only 2GB PC3-8500 1066MHZ
DDR3 SODIMM Memory (43R1988) - Eco
USFF only

For a memory upgrade it's recommended to go with this ram and your computer may have an upgrade limit on the amount of ram you can add. Depending on the cost you may want to go with two of these modules and remove the 1gb modules that you now have.
