Alright so my current rig has been on its last legs for a while now and last year I decided to give it a small upgrade and got a used i7-970 and 3GB GTX 580 to keep my running for a while. Well it is not time for me to completely build a new system.

I am selling my current rig to a buddy of mine so I will not be able to salvage any parts off it. My keyboard is the old G15 and my mouse is the G500 but it's left click does not work so it is mapped to read the right mouse button as the left click so I need to get new accessories. My monitors are a pair of Dell Ultrasharp U2311H. They are moderately new but I want to get rid of those and get a set of 3 new monitors.

Approximate Purchase Date: 1st week of May (later or earlier depending on rebates)

Budget Range: $3500 after rebates/shipping/taxes for the rig and accessories, $1000 for monitors.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Work, Virtual Machines,

Are you buying a monitor: Yes, a set of 3

Parts to Upgrade: Everything

Do you need to buy OS: Yes, I want Windows 7, not 8. I have a key for 8 so I can wait until I can find a copy of Windows 7 on sale.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Amazon, TigerDirect, any well rated site

Location: City, State/Region, Country - Omaha, NE USA

Parts Preferences: I prefer Intel + NVIDIA, but I do miss having Eyefinity from my 5870 Crossfire setup a while back... So either GPU works for me.

Overclocking: NO

SLI or Crossfire: YES

Your Monitor Resolution: 3240 X 1920 (1920 X 1080 in portrait, NVIDIA surround or Eyefinity)

Additional Comments: I would like a quiet PC with no lights or windows. If possible a case with an integrated fan controller would be great but I can settle for a 5.25" fan controller.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I am upgrading since my computer is on it's last legs for what I need it to do and my friend wants my current computer. I have $3500 saved up to use towards this new rig and I am selling my computer for $1000 so I want to use that $1000 towards new monitors.

Solution
dude, brand new intel hasswell and GPU radeon/NVIDIA is coming in June. it isnt wise choice to blow $4500 in a tech that will be outdated very very soon

The most up to date I know about CPUs and GPUs is the LGA1366 socket and the 5XXX series GPUs from AMD. I tend not to study on up on components until I am building but I can push my build back another month.... sigh....

I will not be buying anything until the beginning of May. I cleared my schedule on May 11th to build my rig.....

I guess I can get the accessories out of the way now....
