Hi I'm pretty new to PC Building, I want a low budget light gaming PC and I was wondering if these parts i have are compatible:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition

GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7790 1GB or
XFX Radeon HD 7770 Core ED 1GHz 1GB
(Or any others you may recommend)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 Socket AM3+ AMD 970+SB950 Chipset

Power Supply: Corsair CX Series CX500 500W ATX 12V 80 Plus Bronze Power Supply

Hard Drive: Western Digital WD Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive.

Memory: Kingston HyperX Genesis 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz CL9 DIMMs, w/XMP

Thank you.

You could be doing a couple things to hep get the most of your budget.

Get an FX-6300, its about the same price but it performs a lot better, (+$20)

As well as getting the 7790.

Both of these though a bit more are going to increase the longevity of the system exponentially. The performance difference is not marginal but instead a gaping hole between the two.

Everything else looks good, enjoy your build!
