Hi, I recently upgraded my cpu from the Fx 6200 with a EVGA 660ti to the 8350 with the same gfx card, and got a nice 990fx sabertooth r2 mobo with Corsair H60 watercooling to go with it. I definitely noticed a FPS gain from the 6200, but not anywhere near what I was expecting. I don't know what I am doing wrong.

When i first got the cpu, I ran BF3 at 4.2 ghz that was automatically set by the mobo, and I was getting 120 fps! Then after oc'ing the CPU myself to 4.7ghz, as well as the gfx card, I get 60-80 fps on ultra, dipping low as 45. That pisses me off. I don't know if I overclocked correctly, my temps with the H60 w/ a push pull set up has the temps 65 C on load with prime 95. I unparked my cores as well. In Arma 3 Alpha, I'm getting 45 fps, but dropping to 35 fps. What I didn't do was do a fresh reinstall of Windows 7? Or should I go to Windows 8 for better performance? Or am I fine? Did I overclock correctly? Should I go down in my speed? What should I do???
Please Help me- PLEASE NO INTEL/AMD FLAME WAR!

No with the 6300 I got 40 max. When I first got the 8350 and it got 120 fps on High i think. It was ocd to 4.2 automatically by the mobo

It used to work correctly.
You changed something.
It no longer works correctly.

hmmm......what could be the issue? I wonder.

Go back to the beginning. Set everything back to stock settings. Everything.
Proceed from there. Slowly, documenting everything you do.

And don't blast multiple duplicates in here. It is annoying.

I run BF3 at 150fps in ultra with my 8350 and 2 7850's, you need to follow an above posters recommendation and redo your overclock, it is likely unstable.

Also, as a sidenote, Toms Hardware is a notoriously spam, and troll free place to find information and seek alternate perspectives, do not abuse the forums. Post once, the readers here don't always just check the top of the list but I can guarantee you it will frustrate people to see you hogging the forum with multiple of the same posts. Change what you are doing so that you can benefit from the vast perspectives and knowledge on this site. Post only once someone else has replied, and please check the terms of service. Thanks!

If you can do that we will all be glad to help with anything :)
