Why doesn my HD 7950 could run Assassin creed games with lower FPS than Crysis 3/Bioshock Infinite?

My system:
CPU: FX-6120 (OC at 4.3)
GPU: Gigabite HD 7950 Windforce (OC at 1100/1300)
Ram: 10Gb
Powersupply: 600W
Motherbroad: M3970AM-HP (Angelica2)

I tried to run both Crysis 3/Bioshock Infinite, my sistem could run both game very well. I ran Crysis 3 at all max out/SMAA x2, my FPS was around 55-70. I ran Bioshock Infinite at all max out/open AA, my FPS was around 90-140.

I just tried to run Assassin creed series (1/2/Brotherhood) with all max out and AAx8. My FPS was only around 30-40, which is a lot lower then I expected from these old Assassin creed series. I expected that I would get FPS around 100+ on these old games.

By the way, I ran all of them at 1380x768 (highest my monitor could get).

Anyone know why I got lower FPS in old Assassin creed series than in newly out games like Crysis 3/Biochock Infinite?

I tried to reset all the setting to the factory setting alredy, now I tried to run Assasin creed brotherhood and I am getting 40-60 fps at max out/AAx8 getting.

One thing I am still wondering about is, when I run Assassin creed series my GPU usage % was just only around 35-40%. Which means if the GPU works 100%, I would get like 100+ of FPS.

Anyone know why does my GPU works just only 35-40% when I run Assassin creed?

Perhaps you are being limited by the cpu. If the game doesn't utilize multi cores it could be maxing out just one and then your gpu will sit idle waiting for the cpu. As well what combination of ram are you using to get to 10 gb?

I see, so old Assassin creed series aren't utilize to multi cores CPU right? Btw for rams, I got Kingston 8gb (2X4 gb) duo channel and another one is Samsung 2 gb alone.

Assasins creed 3 is poorly optimized for pc , i assume u r getting the lag in boston right? thousands of people are having this problem so need to worry even in high end pc's game runs like shit u have to get used to it if u wanna finish ubisoft hasnt released the patch till now.

http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/731667-Assassin-s-creed-3-huge-lag-Forums this is one of many threads complaining about major fps drops in boston and new york.

I bet you might lose more than you gain with that extra 2 gb module. Chances are you aren't in dual channel mode any longer. 8 gigs should be plenty to run anything you want. I'd just take that little one out and make sure you have the two 4 gig sticks in the same color slots(they are usually spaced like 1 and 3 for one color and 2 and 4 for the other).

My CPU works around 40-50% while running Assasin creed brotherhood, it works about 50-60% while running Crysis 3 and Bioshock infinite.

Btw I don't think my CPU is bottleneck my GPU since it is a 6 cores at 4.3ghz.

Hm....
I am thinking about to buy another 8gb (2x4 gb) and add in to make 16gb, while take that 2gb out. Could it works out fine of no?

This one is the one I am thinking about to add in my system.

I haven't drop yet but if you ask does the 8gb (2x4) are in the same color or no? Yes, both of them are placed in the same color of slot. The 2gb one is placed alone and I got 1 slot left.

If you can get the exact same as you have currently i'd say yes. Mixing and matching different ram probably won't get you great results and at worst you could get some instability like random bsod or freezing. Sometimes you can get away with it by forcing timings to be the same i've heard but probably not a good idea to take the chance in my opinion. I doubt you would need more than 8 gb as it stands right now. By the time you do you'll be in need of a better cpu/mobo anyways.

edit :
I only just moved up from 6 gb on my old i7 920 and thats because I felt sad that my gtx titan had the same amount of vram on the card :). But I never ran out of memory at 6gb.

Lol.. Are we talking about assassins creed 3? When i was running a single amd 7950 i had no problem maxing out settings at 1080p and had no issues with framerate. I don't think it's an issue with the brand of card..
