OCZ Agility 3 Windows 7 Startup Slow !! 1 minute !!

Solution
For comparision:
System 1 - i5-2500K with a 256 gig Samsung 830 SATA III SSD on SATA III
System 2 - i5-750 with a GSkill Pheonix Pro SATA II SSD on SATA II
................................................................. 1 .............. 2
Post time .............................................. 28 Sec ....... 20 Sec
From Start Loading OS -> Open IE ........ 28 Sec ....... 15 Sec
Total time from Pressing pwr on ............ 56 Sec ....... 35 Sec

So if SSD is Only taking about 28 Sec from start loading OS to Opening first program, your problem is NOT the SSD. Reason.
The Agility III is basically the same as a SATA II SSD. Putting the Agillity III on a SATA III port does NOT improve performance.
... This was documented in a...
Is it possible that the slow part of the startup is in your BIOS? Did you have a slow startup with a different version of Windows with that machine before?

One test is to press the key for a boot menu, usually F8, as the boot process starts. See how much time it takes to get to the boot menu. Then see how much time it takes once you select the SSD as your boot device. That will separate the two times.

Is your motherboard controller set to IDE mode or AHCI mode? IDE mode might slow you down. Also, have you applied all of the online Win8 updates?

And why are you posting in the win7 forum if you are using win8? Is it a typo, or should this move over to the win8 forum?

... This was documented in a review of it Plus I had two of them and checked myself.
PS while they are not as good as the better SATA III SSDs they are still much faster than a HDD.
PSS - A lot also depends on the start up programs that are loaded and this can very considerably between users.

BIOS time can be hard to shorten, Basically unless you have a specific hardware that is causing grief during post, you are stuck with it.

Here is a good example of what effect a program can have on Load time.
My i5-2410m Laptop with a 256 gig Samsung Pro - Total time from Press Power on to IE open is approx 10 Sec. with Windows 8.
Installed the latest version of Total Theatre (My Blue-ray playing software). The Total boot time increased big time. Un-installed (reverted back to Cyberlink PowerDVD) and boot time reverted back to about 10 Sec.
