Does Monitor Resolution increase FPS in Games?

Hello everyone, and im sorry if this is not the right section for it.

My question is if i buy a 1920x1080 Monitor does it increase my FPS like lets say in Starcraft 2/World of Warcraft because in Starcraft 2 i gain 16-23FPS in 2x 200Supply late game 1v1 on the minimum graphic settings.

Also in WoW when theres alot of people and Effects like in battlegrounds or Instances.

My Specs are :
1280x1024 Resolution
Sapphire radeon 6870 Graphics Card
Amd Athlon II x4 640 3.0ghz Processor
6GB Ram
Windows 7
PSU : Be Quiet 530W 80plus

Buying a larger resolution monitor will decrease your FPS because your graphics card needs to generate more pixels.
Instead of 1280x1024 = 1310720
It will need to generate : 1920x1080 = 2073600

Almost double, so expect at least 30% less FPS.

Probably so - starcraft is extremely CPU bound; the graphics hardly matter. WoW is similar; the CPU determines your minimum fps.

Smaller the screen the better your GPU will perform therefore you can play on higher graphic settings...but obviously on a smaller screen

Careful with that. A 46", 1080p TV is just as easy to render graphics for as a 15" 1080p laptop monitor.

It's the resolution that matters, NOT the physical size.

Probably, OC your CPU and check if it improves. If not then its not your CPU.
You can also use resource monitor to check, if 2 of your CPU cores max out then its your CPU limiting your GPU.
