AMD 780 to 970 chipset motherboard: Do I need to reformat my hard drive?

I am upgrading my PC to an AMD FX 8350 and an AMD 970 chipset motherboard (previously an AMD 780 chipset w/ Phenom II X4). Do I need to reformat my hard drive? I know if I was going AMD to Intel this would go without saying, but if its AMD to AMD, does it matter?

It's not dependent on CPU as it is the motherboard. I would suggest you do a reformat because of the different drivers and bios for the motherboard.

I'm sure it's fine but you should reformat to clear everything up. Better safe then sry
