USB 3.0 Ports not working

It's been bothering me for a week now, but my Asus P9X79 pro motherboard's USB 3.0 ports and the ones in the front of my case aren't work, there is power transfer but when I plug in my external hard drive, it doesn't detect it.

Did you load the drivers for the USB 3.0 from the MB disk?

You can download the latest drivers and utilities from the board's website: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P9X79_PRO/#overview
Click on the "support" tab and choose "downloads".

I got a CAP file, what do I do with it?

A CAP file? What are you talking about? You should have downloaded the Asmedia USB 3.0 Driver. It is in the form of a .zip file. Unzip it, open the folder, and run the setup.exe file.
