Hey Guys,
Not been on here in a while! I've had this problem for ages, it hasn't cropped up in the last few months now all of a sudden its back and I want to try and get it solved.
The problem itself is that my whole screen will partially or fully freeze. So sometimes I have to click to mouse more than once to get a response, other times I cant click anything. The problem is very temperamental, but when its being a real pain it will happen at least every half hour. I have tried the following:
Reinstalled the operating system multiple times
Checked all drivers are correct and up to date
Checked all hardware is working correctly
Changed Keyboard and Mouse
Disabled my dual screen setup
All of these had no effect what so ever. I am at a dead end and the strange thing is ive not had the problem as long as the computer (Had the computer about 1 and half years and the problem for about a year) The hardware has never changed other than the installation of some additional RAM, but that doesn't coincide with when the problem started and Ive tried taking it out.
The way I get out of the frozen screen is CTRL ALT DEL, this seems to let the mouse click again. PC specs are as follows:
Motherboard: General Information :
Manufacturer :ASRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3
CPU: Core i5 2500k @3300MHz
RAM: 4 x 4GB DDR3 SDRAM @ 1666MHz
Graphics: GeForce GTX 560ti
HDD: 1TB (2 x 500GB RAID 0)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
If anyones got any ideas on the problem, ways to diagnose or would like more info please let me know, cheers
