I've finally decided to pick HD 7970 over hd 7950 Boost and 7870 XT i'm just checking if everything is fine.
I wanted to play CRYSIS 3 and fully moded SKYRIM with 2k textures + enb and 100mods at it's highest possible settings with 1680x1050 resolution and sometimes 1920x1080 resolution. I'm only using a single monitor and not planning for crossfire or any dual GPU's. I'm an Nvidia users since my first PC but i think AMD is better and cheaper.

Here's my specs
CPU: I5-2500K 3.3Ghz (not overclocked and will this bottleneck the HD 7970?)
MOBO: Asus p8b75-m le
GPU: Galaxy Gtx 260
PSU: Raptor r500 (is this powerful enough?)
RAM: 4gb (upgrading to 8gb after buying HD 7970)

Now for HD 7970 choices:
1.) 1 vga: HIS HD 7970 IceQ X2 3gb/384bit (THIS ONE IS ON SALE AND CHEAPTER THAN THE REST)
2.) Vga Sapphire HD 7970 Dual X 3gb 384bit Gddr5 OC Edition
3.) Vga Sapphire HD 7970 Dual X 3gb 384bit GDDR5

and can any of these do a hybrid physx with my Gtx 260 because physx is damn hot, sadly only few games used it.

Thanks =)

Let me "kill" that post a bit.
1.)AMD and Nvidia price to preformance are about the same.
2.)Your PSU is not good. Get some good one since this is very important.
3.)2nd one is the fastest, first is the coolest and third is nothing special.
4.)Better to use Nvidia card as PPU with Nvidia cards.

Go with first one or gtx 670 EVGA FTW.

Why would OP mess with gimmicks such as Physx when he is after high end performance and not even looking at nvidia ?

Unfortunately Physx is in far to few popular and great games to even matter. At best Physx was a last hurra at trying to lock down and monopolize the graphics market but no game developers are using it and the few games it are in there is little effect and massive performance issues. I recommend OP stick with one powerful card and just forget about trying to run Physx because it will not be in any games in the coming future as the new consoles will be running Graphics by AMD Radeon HD !

Well Gtx 670 EVGA FTW is about $577 in my country and HIS HD 7970 is $416(converted from peso to dollar) and how much faster is the saphhire hd 7970 oc edtion vs the HIS hd7970 ice-q x2? if the speed difference wasn't big enough then i think i would go for HIS.

Thanks for the recommended PSU guys i'll just check them all :)

The 7970 is cheaper and faster than the 670 so that's the logical choice IMO.

Yeah but the problem is which brand :s if the Sapphire OC edition has only a slight difference to HIS HD 7970 Ice-q x2 then i would just get the HIS and what if i OC the HIS would it perform better than Sapphire OC edition?

As of PSU which is better? or is there something better than these two? wouldn't mind going up a little bit
1.)Seasonic S12II 620watts PSU 80Plus Bronze [$80.08]
or
2.)Corsair CX 600watts CX600 [$75.95]

Edit: Just found this but i don't know if it's different from my 2nd GPU selection. "Sapphire HD 7970 3gb/384bit Boost, (OC Ed)"

Personally I always buy the cheapest card that I can find for my money. Both of those Psus will work great because they are quality units.

So it's His HD7970 Ice-q X2 & Seasonic S12II 620watts PSU 80Plus Bronze then, but i still want to know the answers on some of my questions before i decide because buying this means 1 shot and should be a long term rig.

OK I will show you the differences between both cards:

Sapphire
Core Clock: 950/1000MHz
Effective Memory Clock: 1425MHz(5.7Gbps) / 1450MHz(5.8Gbps)

HIS
Core Clock 925MHz
Effective Memory Clock: 1375MHz (5.5Gbps)

All the rest is about the same -- so Sapphire is faster!

As for the power supply go with the one I recommended, mean Seasonic S12II 620watts.

The Corsair CX 600 is made by Channel Well, which is not that bad.

Well this is hard, preferably i would go with the coolest one because it's hot in my country, an average of 31°C. My room is air-conditioned but i think it wasn't enough because i overclocked my gtx 260 galaxy and it reached 70°C full load so can the oc ed sapphire run cool in my place? if it can then i'll take that :wahoo:
can't wait for my upgrade

Funny you claim he is an amd fanboy then a few posts up you claim nvidia and amd are equal price/performance,AMD wins price/performance in every tier of graphics cards.I wish people would do research before spouting off misinformation.nvidia is overpriced for the performance you get.overclocked 7950~>>> overclocked gtx 680 and $200 less

AMD is better in some cases and worse in some cases. It wins at higher resolutions than 1080p. But let me give some benchmarks.
Keep in mind that good branded Nvidia card (EVGA/Asus) OCs very good (you can push it even higher).
This was done with normal Nvidia (not Asus/EVGA) card

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-670-review,3200-2.html - some diferend 670s.
Oh and if you have to go with AMD its not that bad (its very good actually).

Nope we don't have Ghz Edition here, that's why i'm asking if there was any difference between the GHz Edition and Boost OC Edition
