Starcraft 2 Heart of the Swarm Performance

Hi i recently got SC2 HotS. I realized that default settings for SC2 was extreme. Now i played a Ladder match today and saw my FPS dip to around 20-30fps when there was a alot of units on the screen and they where fighting on creep. Is this to be expected of a 2500k and GTX 460 1G. If yes what must I upgrade to be able to play SC2 HotS max out at 60+fps.

System:
CPU:2500k Stock clocked
Ram: 8G
GPU: GTX 460 1G Cyclone

I've had very good performance with my setup i5-3570K, 8GB DDR3-1600, and GTX 560 It 448. Seems strange your having that issue. If you are going to change your VGA card you have a real dilemma. Wait for the new 700s or buy a 600s now before the price goes up due to higher RAM prices. Maybe be turn down the anti aliasing and other effects in the mean time. What motherboard are you using so we can see what options you have.

at stock clocks thats pretty much what i would expect from a 2500k on that game as its dual core optimized. that and the 460 is getting on now.

I have a MSI Z68A-GD65 Mobo. It could just be that the game is not good optimized.I tried it on medium and i still hit the 30fps mark with alot on screen.

You'll want at least a 660. http://www.game-debate.com/news/?news=4171 Your cpu is really not an issue. My 2500k/560ti do just fine maxed on hots.
