Local Group policy keeps resetting to domain policy even without any connection to the domain

What could possibly be causing this to happen? Any changes made to the Local Group Policy are reverted after the laptop has been restarted. The computer used to be in a working business environment, but has for months been disconnected from the domain. I am using the In-built Administrator account for the laptop. With every restart the Registry.pol file is modified with this set of predefined Group polices meaning that replacing the file with a good one doesn’t work.

Thanks for the reply. The thing is its only part of the group policy that keeps reverting, more specifically only the group policies that have been set by the domain before. Meaning any group policies I set other than the two set when the computer was connected to the domain aren’t affected. It’s just those two that keep reverting.
