Hopefully there's no damage to the HDD. Try re-formatting the drive on another computer and then re-install Windows.

Hi ram thanks for getting back so quickly but when I try to reinstall, it goes thru to coping temp files and then goes to restart to continue but when its resarts the screen goes black and the white cursur arrow is in the middle of the screen and its there for ever nothing changes its like its on a loop

did you delete all the partitions during the install?

I agree. The file system may have got hosed when the power cut out. I'd delete all partitions and start from scratch.

where do I start ,
I downloaded spybot and it made a lot of changes to my system, even asking do I want to allow or deny my own emails so I tried to uninstall it bit of trouble with that so I done an reinstall and half way thru got a power cut.
with a lot a hard work I finally got back on with my old homepage. it was like the power cut stopped the installation of windows 7 and I was left with my old system but when I restarted it , I had the same hard job to get it back . so I done a reinstall on a second partition then I used mini tool partition and tried to change the second partition to primary partition and deleted the c drive and tried to boot up with the second partition now I am back where I started. It wont boot on . Thanks

just wanted to say thanks lads I got it sorted, I connected my HDD to another pc with xp on it and it gae me the options to format and start from scratch. up and running once again
