Hi,
Today I upgraded my cpu and cpu cooler and i was playing some cpu intensive games to test out my new processor. This happened for about an hour then i got bored an turned my PC off. When my PC was off i noticed an odd ticking noise coming from inside the computer. It ticked about 4 times then stopped. I don't think this happened before my cpu and cooler upgrade although i' not sure... Please can someone help!

No, nothing is stuck in the fan, checked that when i was installing it, maybe it could be the thermal paste bubbling because it's hot? I'm not sure... Is this something to worry about? I don't really want my best computer to blow up!!!

The sound happens when i've done some very resource intesive things like gaming and i turn my PC off. It only happens when my PC is off. It sounds like a someone flicking a heatsink. Basically a metally clangy tingy sound.

as an analogy kinda like a catalytic converter on a car after its been run for a while in the summer? What cooler did you get? It may be a particular cooler thing but I'm not sure though.

the cause of it happening on a car is the shrinking of the metal on the exhaust after being heated. On a heat sink, unless it is getting really really hot, it should not get to a temp high enough to make the metal expand enough to give this kind of sound.
