I've built a new PC 2 weeks ago. Everything has been running great until yesterday. Mid-game in Farcry 3, my screens started "pixelating". They are square pixels that are various colors. If you look closely you can tell they belong in other parts of the screen (like part of a desktop icon). The pixels change location when the mouse is moved.
Hardware or software problem?
Specs: i5 3570k, Gigabyte Z77-DS3H, AMD Powercolor 7870 "EZ Edition" 2GB, 8 Gbs 1600 DDR3, Windows 8 64 bit

I haven't been able to find any problem/solution that matches mine anywhere.

Some background:
■ uninstalling the driver solves the pixelation issue, but it returns as soon as i reinstall the driver. yes, i've tried older drivers, and yes i've used the amd uninstall tool each time and rebooted accordingly.
■ I'm not overclocking (yet), and it's running at 40 degrees (Celsius)
