Wrong! The Nabi 2 uses the same processor as the Nexus 7 and is considered the top kid's tablet on the market. It's not even that cheap, at $200 retail initially and now at $180. You must be confusing it with truly cheap and crappy tablets like the Kurio and the Meep.

The question itself is not very clear. The Nabi 2 has an app store, it's just their own, with a smaller selection of curated kid-friendly apps. I take the OP's question to be more along the lines of why doesn't it have Google Play, the largest Android App Store. While you can still install any other third party app store on the Nabi 2, including Amazon's. Google Play hasn't been authorized. It has not been authorized on any of the kid-centric tablets. Why is this? For one, Google puts restrictions on which tablets can get authorized and two items that kids tablets have which technically go against their restrictions are that they include their own app stores and also that they have an alternative interface (kids mode) installed as the default interface, which is different enough in appearance and functionality from Android that it is seen as "too" different. In other words, part of what makes a kid's tablet a kid's tablet goes against Google Play's restrictions. Despite this, Fuhu has been in communication with Google since last summer in an effort to find a way to get their tablets authorized. There is no ETA on when this will happen, but I for one feel it is inevitable. Google is missing out on a lot of income and also turning would-be customers away from the Android ecosystem in favor of Apple. So eventually I think they will see the light and loosen these restrictions.
