minimum wattage psu for my build

i have everything bought except a power supply (did that intentionally). by graphics card is a 7870ghz edition, cpu is phenom x4 965 be (140w version) and a hyper 212 plus on it. minimum wattage as per sapphire for the card is 500w, so i have a really good sale for a 500w

but i don't think it's enough. i'm pretty sure i need at least 600w but i'm not 100% sure. thanks in advance for the help

also, if you have any recommended, non modular power supplies (or cheap but well reviewed modulars) let me know, thanks.

ahh, didn't know that recommended wattage was for the whole system, thanks for that info.

the 7870 has a max draw of 175watts
the phenom 965 draws 140
add in 50 -75 for the board drives and fans and your at a max system draw of around 350-400watts.

I would make sure the PSU has at least a rating of 32 amps on the 12 volt rail. 32amps x 12volts = 384watts
