Hi,

Just built my first pc and everything went fine....... Ive installed windows 8 on it.....

In the bios i made the SSD the 1st boot drive and the optical drive the 2nd boot drive......

I was just reading some other forums and it said the boot sequence should be the optical drive then the HDD...... :??:

I can see the reason to have the optical drive first if i was needing to reinstall the OS.....

Since i have already installed the OS on the HDD, wouldnt it be better for the 1st boot device to be the HDD......

Thanks

Yes, you are correct.

But except for a short delay in the boot process, it doesn't matter.

If the DVD is the first device and the SSD the second, it will attempt to boot from the DVD. Seeing nothing there, it will move on to the next device, the SSD.

Ok great, Thank you for confirming....

One last thing that i forgot to mention..... The motherbaord I used is the " Asus P8H77-M Pro.

On the motherbaord there is a GPU Boost Switch and an EPU Switch.....

when I was reading through the motherboard manual it indicates that both these switches are NOT enabled......

I didnt notice anything in the manual that indicates whether i should enable them or not ? The fact that they arent enabled by default im thinking i shouldnt enable them ?

Should i enable them or just leave them disabled on the motherboard ?

Thanks
