Hey guys,
Last week I was on my computer when randomly the taskbar and all of my icons vanished, the computer froze, and shut off. When I would reboot I would get the screen that states to enter the boot disk and select drive. I am in college and don't have the disk with me. After about 3 attempts at rebooting I was able to get the computer booted and restored to about 2 weeks prior. Today I had the same thing happen, however, I cannot get it rebooted. I am assuming it is a hard drive problem. I tried plugging the hard drive into new ports. I also tried going into the BIOS, however, the mouse and keyboard freeze when I get into the BIOS. I am using a Gigabyte Z77X motherboard with an OEM edition of Windows 7. Does anyone have any solutions to this problem? Thanks a ton.

I manage to pull up Windows through BIOS but it runs very laggy. I got my OEM disk but since it is OEM it does not have a repair function. I have tried a system restore but that doesn't fix the problem. I updated my drivers which also doesn't fix the problem. I ran a test on my hard drive and it also appears to be fine. I have no ideas as to what the problem could be. Is my only solution to reinstall Windows? I'm not even sure this will fix the problem. I just don't want to have to reinstall everything on my computer. Thanks for the help.
