First:
I have a
Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420

Ok so I was having Hard drive errors; I installed a fresh Windows 7 thinking it might resolve any issues; Unfortunately it did not work and kept getting hard drive errors;

I went out and bought a new HDD and I got it in with no problem I went into bios and set my DVD Drive as main boot, but with no luck. I get a screen that gives me the option to choose what it should boot from...I choose my ATAPI CD0: slimtypeDVD A since my Win7 disc is in there.

Still unable to boot from DVD; I know the HDD is good because it gives me the option to boot from it and I know the drive is good as well because just earlier today I booted from it to start a clean install; So I'm pretty much stuck on what the issue can be. Am I doing something wrong? Did I skip a step?

Please I need help!

Solution
Those are the correct steps. Set the bios boot order to cd/dvd first, then hard drive. As long as the cd/dvd is bootable it should launch.
