Hello, helping a friend of mine out here with his pc and was wondering if I could get a thumbs up to buy and build. Originally was going to sli gtx650 ti boost but seems more favor of the 7950. The max budget will be $1,000 not including OS, mouse, monitor, keyboard as we are recycling those already.
-Plan to purchase this week
-budget before taxes/s&h $1,000 CAD
-used for gaming! Fps to MMO's.
-Overclocking: maybe
-SLI/Crossfire: maybe
-Only real note is that my friend would love to stick with the Haf XB case...

Currently picked out...

On a final note I was able to get him to wiggle up to that $1,150 which is what I ended up but I would not be able to go beyond currently, I did recommend him a Hyper 212 as well down the road shortly. Open completely to suggestions and opinions and I apologize if I did anything incorrect, I read quiet a few $1,000 builds but many included OS, Monitors etc..etc. Thanks and I appreciate anybody reading this wall of text! :)

System looks pretty good, but I think I have another option to consider:

* CPU/Mobo/DVD the same as yours.
* RAM I selected a set that is faster & cheaper and also has LOW PROFILE heat spreaders, so you can install just about any CPU HSF out on the market. The one set that you selected has pretty HIGH PROFILE heat spreaders and they tend to get in the way of aftermarket CPU HSF's.
* Case I selected is cheaper and will do the job well. Also because it's cheaper, it left some room to afford an SSD!!
* PSU that you selected is good, but the Seasonic one I selected will do the job well and is >$50 cheaper!
* Added a 120 gb SSD, so you can have a snappy experience in and around the OS, games, apps.

Sorry I quoted but the forum logged me out and deleted all that I wrote :( .. anyway starting again, I'd like to say thanks for the assistance, however I forgot to mention I was Canadian, and being Canadian means these great Newegg.com/Amazon.com deals don't apply to us. The end price of what you quoted to me Lunyone after re-building with what I had picked out came to over $1,100CAD before S&H and taxes. Damn deals :[
For instance the ram itself was cheaper by $3.00, the video card was $10 more, the PSU is $119CAD and the case came to around $70
Possible PSU (www.newegg.ca)
-PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk III Series 600W Modular Power Supply features 100% Japanese 105°C rated Capacitors = $84.99 + Free shipping
-CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply = $64.99 + $10 mail-in-rebate
A couple Seasonic at around $85 to $93, 620W 80Plus Bronze.

P.s. Sorry to bump this due to editing!

No problem at all. The PSU should be at least a 500w quality PSU (Corsair, Seasonic, PCP&C, Antec, or XFX). If you want a bit more wiggle room I would go with a 550w or 600w PSU by the same manufacturers that I listed. The Corsair CX 600w PSU, that you listed would be fine also.

Where were you buying your parts from (Amazon, NCIX, Newegg)? If you can give me which ones your buying from, I could rebuild it with PC Part Picker and let you see what options you have.

Well so far these particular parts I have been looking at Newegg.ca, NCIX.ca doesn't really match up price wise to Newegg.ca this week although I do use them often. Amazon.ca is great for the free shipping and some deals make it worthwhile but seeing a case twice the price or a stick of ram for $129($59 on US) on the Canadian site than the US is painful. So currently Newegg.ca! Thanks Luny

Let me know if any of these resellers is okay:

Everything looks great, one slight suggestion, think a "XFX Radeon HD 7950 Core Edition 3GB" could substitute over that Hls? The XFX is currently $279 (regular $359)+ free shipping. deal ends soon
