A10-5800k screen goes black

specs as follows:

AMD A-10 5800k @4.2ghz/ 1.4375v
Asrock fm2a75 mobo
Ripjaw 2400mhz ram 4g x 2 1.65 v @2133mhz (northbridge speed to match)
cpu/nb voltage 1.3v
igpu core speed 800mhz

My screen goes black when i put any stress on the igpu, web browsing and videos it fine but as soon as i play a game 15-20 seconds into moving around it goes black. if i back the igpu core speed down it holds up ok but trying to get the most bang for my buck from my apu.

any advice?

Try backing down the NB speed a touch, I found I could easily overclock the GPU and RAM no problem but the NB could get unstable easily especially under load, unless really good cooling was applied (2000mhz NB speed was fine, but over can get touch and go)

Also are you using the Stock cooler? if so dump it and get something better, that will help a lot

Well that's a bit better but Still not super Great.
For Starters Back your CPU core voltage down, U shouldn't need any extra voltage (or only a very tiny amount)to reach 4.2ghz as that's what it boosts upto on Turbo Boost
Do take note the Max Core Voltage is 1.475v, so in terms that's a pretty high voltage already
NorthBridge Speed is fine upto 2000mhz with little to no extra voltage, Above 2000mhz is becomes reliant on how good a CPU it is, and how well you can cool it

The 7660D Internal GPU should be able to go as high 1000mhz core speed on Air cooling with almost no extra voltage, as GCN overclocks well, Though the better you can cool it the Better you can overclock it
If your board can take it Clock the RAM upto it's 2400mhz as that will help with GPU performance a lot, but you might have to upthe Ram voltage anywhere from 1.65 to 1.72v , but that depends how good the LLC is for the ram

For the board and chip I entered into the Dig for Victory Contest, I was able to get my ram at 2400mhz by running it at 1.72v setting but actual voltage of the ram was at 1.68v due to voltage droop

So essentially its a heat issue from too high voltage from the cpu bleeding into the igpu? i will be upgrading the cooler soon, most likely some monster with dual fans.

As far as the ram speed goes the ripjaw is capable of doing it at 1.65v per gskill and same with the claims of asrock for the mobo. ive had it up at 2400 but seems more unstable with igpu core speed lower. thus the reason why i lowered it.
possibility of voltage loss? im using a raidmax 530w psu

Basically Since they share the same space, they have to share the heat limits too, The CPU is equipped with Bi directional Power management, that will limit either the CPU or iGPU when the Max heat is hit. Basically more heat from your CPU kills your ability to overclock your GPU and can be causing your problems with the Northbridge clock. Like i said, Past 2000mhz the Northbridge clock gets very twitchy to heat (i had much better luck with hitting higher NB speeds, once i could cool my Overclocking CPU to 7 degrees, was able to push NB from 2000 upto 2400 no worries , possibly higher if i tried more voltage)

Voltage loss is possible but its' not from your power supply it's from the actual Voltage regulators on the motherboard, That is why for my Overclocking rig I was running I had to push 1.72v on 1.65v ram to get it stable at 2400mhz, but the actual voltage that was being fed to the Ram was 1.68v when set to 1.72v, it's to do with the Load Line Calibration of the memory voltage regulator, At least in my case
