Ok i was running a dual boot with Win 8 and Ubuntu, I removed ubuntu but went wrong along the way and couldn't boot windows. I have solved this issue but now Iam left with the two partitions where i split my drive 50%/50% at the Ubuntu installation. When i go into Disk management i have from left to right, System reserved D:(blue bar), C:(blue bar), free space(green bar) 7.89 healthy(blue bar). When i right click the free space partition i have, new simple volume or delete partion, delete partion does not work as im told that the drive is to small...Can anyone tell me if i can go back to just having a single 500gb drive like before i started with ubuntu

Solution
Yes, gparted on any linux live cd or usb will work. Don't touch the system reserved partition, that' part of windows. Delete the last two partitions and then expand your c: partition to include the free space. That will work fine.
