This is what my Star Menu looks like now, it has a number 13 now on the store tile, but it crashes to desktop when i start it, all the other apps are just gone...

Yesterday I installed hdtune and hdd regenerator to look for bad sectors on my SSD, they found some, but windows was still working flawlessly... And this mornig I started my comp and all windows apps are gone, other work just fine...

System Spec in full:

MBO: Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3
Proc: QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
RAM: 2x OCZ XTC Platinum OCZ2P10002G
SSD: KINGSTON SVP200S3120G
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD6770

...latest bios and ssd firmware!

...i ran sfc and found no errors, tried repair windows which got me no results! I will probably have to reinstall windows but if I can solve this easier it wold save me hours...

Did you try Refresh your PC? Requires your Installation Media and you'll have to re-install non Metro Apps, but data will be preserved.

Wow! Don't Windows 8 users know that "refresh" kills all the programs installed other than the Windows 8 Apps? This is a terrible fix to the problems with Windows 8 tiles/Apps no longer responding to a mouse click to open them. Windows Store just appears momentarily and then disappears. Other Windows 8 Apps simply do not respond. No one seems to know how to fix this problem unless they "refresh" and kill all their installed programs that requires a reinstall of all those programs. One can believe that this is a Microsoft intent so only Windows 8 Apps run on their PC???? No fix found to-date.

Updated to 8.1 yesterday. Same problem; Windows Store crashes. The "Refresh Fix" is not a fix, it's a weapon of mass destruction. MS needs to come up with something better!

So the solution is either wipe out my non metro apps or don't use metro apps......

I think I'll just not use the Metro apps, I liked the Netflix and Hulu apps because they don't use flash and I could use them while playing flash games or even Steam games, but I'm not wiping out my other apps for it.
