Does CFX 7970 still stutter?

While I'm not about to buy these cards, I've been interested in them, especially the lightning editions.

So, I want to ask if there are still issues with microstuttering, latency issues and such? I know there will always be some stutter, but does it actually break the fluidity of games today?

I heard the new drivers made 7970 in crossfire more bearable, but i I were to buy them, would they still noticeably stutter?

Also, I've hard that V-sync or frame limiting generally solves microstuttering issues, but what if I had a 120hz screen? Would V-sync still solve the issue?

Thanks:)

So you would rather go SLI than Crossfire if you were to choose between them? When are these problems supposed to be fixed?

SLI is not similarly broken, and appears to work pretty well, although scaling varies and there can still be other driver issues. I'd really prefer a single strong card, but if I wanted to run multiple cards, it would HAVE to be SLI. AMD indicated that fixes would be out in July.

Well, the only single stronger cart atm is Titan... so I guess SLI should be the best option for now...

So, if I get this correctly, if you are crossfiring 7970s, there is no need for a 120Hz monitor, because you'll have to limit your FPS to something much lower? That's a bit sad...

I see, thanks. Well, I'm still leaning more towards the Nividia GPU solutions for now, we'll see if anything changes by the time I get around to buying the parts for my build.

Oh, I didn't feel picked-on, but I admit my patience for half-baked "solutions" (like an artificial gimp) isn't that great, evoking a rather Boolean response sometimes (so I might have deserved it, from a different POV).
Btw, that's a nice mining rig. I need to downclock my single HD7970 or the fans become intolerable when mining.
