Hi everyone, I'm building my own computer and originally had an $800 budget but it ended up stretching to $900. Which psu would be the best for my build, I have an i5-3570 (non k) and a single 7870xt. I also won't be over clocking.

An 850 watt silver rated i'm guessing oem made one for $50 thats on sale.

NZXT Hale 82n 650 watts bronze that is $60. This was my initial choice since it's made by seasonic and i think it has enough power for my build.

XFX 650 Watt core edition for $65. Same reasoning as for the NZXT. I have to deal with mail in rebates though, otherwise its $75.

I was probably going to go with the NZXT one.

Sorry i should have included it. I haven't picked out the parts yet so i will just list what i will include.

  • 2X4GB of ram
    1TB HDD
    cd/dvd optical drive
    motherboard
    wifi adapter
maybe a SSD some time in the future
    maybe crossfire in the future

For a system using two AMD reference design Radeon HD 7870 Boost Edition graphics cards in 2-way CrossFire mode AMD specifies a minimum of a 600 Watt or greater system power supply. The power supply should also have a maximum combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 51 Amps or greater and have at least four 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

The NZXT HALE82 N Series 650W (NP-1BN-0650A) is not made by Seasonic, it's made by FSP Group.

The NZXT HALE82 Series 650W (HALE82-650-M) semi-modular model, on the other hand, is made by Seasonic. The three HALE82 Series models are the only models that use Seasonic as the OEM. The remaining models use FSP Group and Super Flower as the OEM.

The XFX model is the only one I would recommend out of those three. At least it is made by Seasonic since that is the only OEM that XFX uses.
