Are there any Quadcore Ultrabooks?

I have a Dell M6400 now.. It's getting pretty old, but it still hums along very well. It has a quadcore cpu (Q9300), 16G ram, and NVidia Quadro FX 3700M, 17" 1900x1200 LED monitor..

Are there any ultrabook upgrade paths based on what I have now? I admit I would love a more portable system with all day battery life.. I work in 3DSMax and After Effects and need the video/cpu horsepower..

No. There are no "true" quad core ultrabook. To officially be considered an ultrabook, a laptop must have either a "Y" (13w)or "U" (17w) model Core i3/i5/i7 CPU. The only quad core CPUs are the "QM" (45w) and "QE" (45w) models which consumes more than 2.5x more power than a "U" model and about 3.5x more power than a "Y" model.

Asus has a few laptops that they refer to as "ultrabooks" because of the size and weight I suppose, but they stick a power hungry (for a laptop) i7 "QM" CPU into that "ultrabook". An example is the $2,300 ASUS UX51Vz-XH71 15.6" Ultrabook:

All of these have CPUs that rank almost twice as high as mine on the PassMark scale..
The Dell is the closest to what I would like: powerful CPU, fast graphics, high resolution screen, thin and lightweight (compared to what I have now), high resolution screen, long battery life (compared to what I have now), optical drive.. If it had a numpad it would be perfect..

I notice the Sony Vaio series have an external "extended sheet battery" option, a little plate plugs into the bottom and give you a total of 12 hours battery life! Wow!
